"Equipment for underwater swimming."
Where were you in 1955? It's doubtful that
you were SCUBA diving. Aqua Blue Sports
was! That was the year that Sports Illustrated featured
Zale Parry on the May cover.
Zale
Parry began diving in 1951 using one of the first "Aqualungs". She also helped
run the first hyperbaric chamber for non-military divers. Along with many
records set in diving she was best known for her acting in Sea Hunt. We
can all recall racing home to watch Mike Nelson's latest adventure and sat
mesmerized while watching Jacques Cousteau's first underwater
special.....in black and white.
Around that time Popular Science featured articles on "How to Build Your Own Scuba Equipment" and Consumer Reports evaluated "Equipment for Underwater Swimming ". Thankfully we don't need to make our own Scuba gear and testing labs and expert divers rate our equipment these days. Early technology is primitive by our current standards but was cutting edge at the time.

Also in 1955, Aqua Blue Sports opened it's doors as the local pioneer in the sport of diving. Those early days consisted of the same basic elements as they do today.
SSI Platinum Pro 5000 Diver Bobbie Nicosia and Aqua Blue Sports continue to maintain the highest level of training for it's students and instructors, the latest in diving and safety equipment and the most experience in the industry. All this to ensure that your diving experience is continues to be exciting, safe and FUN!
